Norfolk LTA hosted a Corporate Tennis Day on Wednesday 13 September to raise money for their tennis disability programme. The event, held at East Anglia Tennis and Squash Club under the organisation of referee Derek Perry, produced an excellent day of tennis. A wide range of  participants from the local business community competed in the first event of this kind organised by Norfolk Tennis. At the end of rather breezy day of competition The Bostons managed to clinch the final with two of their team members Mikael Sorboen and Dean Webster taking away the prize for top pair of the day. With the enthusiasm shown for the day this looks set to become an annual event.

The event raised over £700, sufficient to purchase another tennis wheelchair suitable for junior players. With a rapidly expanding programme of activities currently including wheelchair users, the Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, those with learning difficulties and Down’s Syndrome Active there is always a need for additional specialist equipment.

Mike Hughes Norfolk LTA Sponsorship coordinator said ‘We are grateful to all those who competed in this event and also those who generously donated raffle prizes. Our disability programme is thriving and therefore we are pleased to be able to purchase a much needed wheelchair. We hope that the organisations which participated in the event had an opportunity to learn more about the role of Norfolk LTA and we are keen to talk to anyone interested in discussing sponsorship opportunities.’
