Easton Tennis Centre took part in a national scheme the week beginning 16th October.
The week long scheme run by the Tennis Foundation and CrossSports in partnership with Easton & Otley College was aimed at getting more 5-8 years old into sustainable, indoor, mini tennis sessions.
The scheme comprised of coaching in ten schools during the week and delivering leaflets into 20 more as well as visiting several other venues with activities for similar age groups every evening all promoting three free 90 minutes sessions over the weekend at the Tennis Centre.
The three free sessions across both Saturday & Sunday saw over 300 children attend & enjoy some fun tennis activities. A special deal was set up for the weekend so any sign ups had a 25% discount of the half term coaching block as well as a free racket & water bottle. At the close of play on Sunday there were just over 120 new children booked on the programme.
The Coaching team from Easton ran the free sessions with the Tennis Foundation staff across the weekend working very hard & doing an excellent job which was ratified by the number of sign-ups.
This national scheme has been taken across the country to over 40 indoor venues over the past few years to support sustainable indoor tennis programmes.
